Final Sculptures

My final sculpture project was autobiographical and used three materials, steel, chalk, and light. Each cylinder represented a base/home and the connecting wires and lines drawn in light represented different connections/relations. My favorite part is the chalk grid. This is the second sculpture I utilized a grid in and I have to admit I am obsessed. It makes me feel orderly and planned. It makes it relevant and relatable, and in this work it was actually the hardest part, because my cubes got off scale and so the grid had to be drawn to look accurate, but in reality its visual tricks, you believe that its a perfect 12 by 12 square grid because it's a close and relatable size.

Holiday Dinner Party!

Last Saturday my room mate Gabi and I had a dinner party! Actually, we provided the space while Sophia made dinner, Amanda headed up the crafts table, Nicole made desert, and I perfected the glogg. I think Gabi and I did a really good job cleaning up the apartment and making it look very festive and hygge.

I made a re
ally simple centerpiece with my three favorite candle holders. They are all the kind that have little handles so you could walk with them. I have been collecting them since last year and this was a perfect time to use them! I got red and gold tapered candles, and then scattered candy canes around them.

We don't have matching flatware, but I actually think our makeshift black, white, and red plates suited the occasion.

In the background you can see my favorite cheap and easy decorations, wine bottles with candles in them! It's so simple, but they look SO cool once candles have melted and they are covered in wax. The best part is that the only way you can get the wax to drip and look cool is by buying cheap candles! So you don't have to feel bad about getting the cheapest ones you see!

Finally, I lined the shelf and window sill with TONS of tea lights. It looked fantastic, almost like having a fireplace!

I got this nailpolish in Copenhagen at the Henrik Vibskov store. I love it. The color is awesome, and the quality is so high. It covers really evenly and beautifully. Unfortunately, mine is starting to dry out. I was browsing other colors online. I want all of them. But I don't want them to cost as much as they do, and I want them in America. Check out this companys other products here.

My mom and I spent Monday decorating her mantle for Christmas. We were inspired by Martha Stewarts christmas magazine, so we bought some candles, mod podge, pinecones, glitter, and epsom salt and turned her mantle into a Christmasey wonderland. These are the finished products of our beautiful pinecones.

Aww, you can see my mom in the background! Sorry for the poor quality image...iphone in low light isn't always the greatest.

In other news, I am back in Massachusetts. Missing the bear. Hopefully I can get him to post on here someday soon!

Happy Thanksgiving

The bear and the bunny are reunited this week. Unfortunately, the bear has to work today, so I have been sitting in his basement watching law and order and putting together a sculpture proposal. I forgot how fun Sketch Up can be to use! Hopefully you will see real photographs of a finished, real life version of this sculpture in a few weeks!

Hope you had a great thanksgiving!
Enjoy this late entry from the Bears journal.

about the bear

The bear is far to complicated to describe in a blog description, blog post, or even in the entire twilight series. Perhaps these images of his work will at least start to give you a picture of who the bear is.These are my five favorite images.
1) The Bagpipe Scotty Dog. The bear LOVES animals, which will become clear quickly through these images. He is also quite clever
and imaginative.

2) Everything is illuminottered. The bear is a fan of Jonathan Safran Foer and Nicole Krauss. We both are. The Bear is considering becoming a vegetarian again because Foer has such a compelling argument. I think that would be a shame, as the Bear is a really good meat cook.

3) This is a picture the Bear drew of me (the Bunny). I love it because I'm vain, and nobody sees me as prettier than the Bear. This is the best I will ever look. Plus, the Bear used my favorite colors, purple and gold. But now
you are learning about me, and not the Bear, so on to the next.

4) The Bear drew an entire series of illustrations called "Fruitimals" the fruitimals are half fruit half animal and are very clever. If you want to see all of them (plus all of the Bears other illustrations) go to tmills.tumblr.com

5) This is the valentines day card that the Bear sent me while I was in Danmark. He can always knows how to cheer me up, and exactly what I will want. He listens to everything I say. Its shocking. I might mention that I
really like some animal, or color, or object, and in just days he will incorporate that into something for me. Its the best. And so is he.

Have a good day, and plan on hearing much more about the Bear, and even from the Bear himself in the near future!
Love, The Bunny!
