Since Christmas I have had about $300 burning a hole in my pocket. Unfortunately it's starting to go towards practical things like food and gas and beer due to my basic unemployment, but I still have been spending a fair amount of time combing through various online sales looking for my one big purchase. I've been looking especially at shoes and these are the winners and failures I have found.
WINS: (clockwise from top to bottom)
Acne Tanami Boots- They are what I always imagiened the Old Lady who lives in a shoe's shoe as.
Opening Ceremony Knit Cuff Leather Ankle Boot- I saw something like these in the Henrik Vibskov store and was enamored with their sensibility and cute little house on the prairie-ness.
Stine Goya Suede Ankle Boot- Three different materials all work together so well here!
The Old Curiosity Shop Leather Chucker Boot-My obsession with chucka and desert boots AND very girly shoes makes these perfect.
Opening Ceremony Plaid Desert Boot-another combination that I love, desert boots and plaid.
FAILS:
Melissa + Zaha Hadid Shoes (2 pairs)- I hate these shoes. They seem completely unwearable, and I haven't been able to find any photos of them being worn on actual feet (besides the models in the ad's)
Marc by Marc Jacobs Leather Ankle Boots- they look cheap and I just can't imagine how one would wear them. I usually love marc but these are a miss.
Dolce and Gabanna Patent Sneaker Shoes- When will this die? sneakers and pumps will never, ever mix and will never look good.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Penny Loafer Boots- I also don't see why this was necessary. I'm not a fan of pump penny loafers, it reminds me of women in business suites or something, and why then add a boot top?
B Store Patent Leather Mules- I also hate mules. Shoes need heels. I can just hear these clomping around and I can see some girls gross heels flopping around in there. No thank you.
